Our purpose built nursery is based in the heart of Reading on the beautiful University of Reading Whiteknights Campus. We have a drop-off area in a perfect location overlooking the campus lake.
In 2009, Little Learners relocated to a purpose-built facility, expanding our childcare services for students and staff at the University of Reading. We warmly invite everyone to come and explore our nursery.
Our nursery has been on the University of Reading campus for over 20 years. Little Learners was purpose-built in 2009 to provide more childcare places to students and staff of the University of Reading. We have since welcomed everyone to come and visit our nursery. With a capacity of 106 places for full day care, the nursery is available for children aged from three months to five years and is staffed by a team of experienced and professional childcare practitioners.
Little Learners is proudly part of Reading University Students’ Union, a charity that aims to improve the experiences of students at the University of Reading’.
Our purpose built facility has five child-centred rooms that lead directly onto the outdoor area. Each room is designed to be flexible to meet the needs of the children in which it provides care. The nursery operates as a free-flow nursery; this enables children to explore the nursery both inside and outdoors.
The five child-centred rooms create three key areas of the nursery which include Daisies, Bluebells and Buttercups units. The age ranges within the units can be flexible, however presently the Daisies unit caters for children from 3 months to 2 years, Bluebells unit 2 – 3 years and Buttercups unit 3 years until they leave to go to school.
Our babies and toddlers, develop in an ideal nursery environment. Our purpose built nursery ensures we have high standards of childcare and use high quality facilities to ensure your child is cared for and having fun.
Our toddlers love to explore at our nursery, which allows them to learn and gain knowledge about the world around them. Our toddlers enjoy purposeful play and develop into independent individuals.
We have an exceptional preschool in Reading. Our Buttercups love coming to nursery & building important relationships with our staff & their peers. We ensure our children develop & grow in our nursery care.
Every child is unique and in order to meet their needs we plan and adapt our rooms to reflect this, for example in the Autumn term their needs may be related to settling into the nursery, whereas in the summer term their needs may be working on developing peer relationships. No matter what the child’s needs are our experienced team are here to help recognise their needs and plan accordingly to ensure that we deliver a highly beneficial service to all our children.
Over 20 Years ago, we built our day nursery, providing childcare for university students and staff members. This gave parents the ability to study or teach.
